Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about PictionaryHub. Something missing? Get in touch.

How many players do you need to play Pictionary?
Pictionary works best with 4 to 8 players. You can play with as few as 2 (one draws, one guesses) or as many as 20 in a large group setting - just split into smaller teams and pass the phone to the designated drawer each round.
Do I need to create an account to play?
No. You can start a game immediately without an account. Creating a free account lets you save your favorite word packs, track game history, and generate shareable challenge links - but it's completely optional.
Is PictionaryHub free to use?
Yes, the core experience - word packs, countdown timer, auto-advance, and sharing - is free. We may introduce optional premium word packs in the future, but the free tier will always include enough content for a full game.
Can I play without an internet connection?
Once a word pack is loaded, the game runs entirely on-device. The timer and word progression work offline. If you've opened the app once during the session, closing Wi-Fi won't interrupt a game in progress.
How long does a typical game take?
A 10-word round at 60 seconds per word takes roughly 12-15 minutes including transitions and laughter. The 30-second flash format covers 10 words in under 8 minutes. Use our presets or set your own timer and word count.
Can I create my own word list?
Custom word packs are coming in an upcoming release. For now, you can choose from 50+ curated packs sorted by scenario, difficulty, and player count. If you have word suggestions, use the feedback link at the bottom of any pack page.
What devices does PictionaryHub work on?
PictionaryHub runs in any modern browser - Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. It works on phones, tablets, and laptops. No app download required. For in-person games, the most common setup is one person's phone passed to each drawer in turn.
How do challenge links work?
When you finish a game, you can generate a challenge link that captures your word pack, timer settings, and score. Share it with friends on any platform. Anyone who opens the link can start the same game with one tap - and their score gets compared to yours.
Can I use PictionaryHub for office events?
Absolutely. The "Office Throwdown" pack is specifically designed for work events - corporate jargon words that are funny precisely because everyone knows them. Several of our packs work well for team building: Party Classics is always safe, Family Fun works for mixed audiences.
Are the drawing hint images safe for all audiences?
Yes. Hint images are sourced from Pexels and are pre-filtered for workplace and family appropriateness. Images are optional and off by default - the host can enable them from the game settings before starting.
